The Sunlight Centre has today written to Brian Binley, the MP for Northampton South, asking him to clarify some of the allegations raised in the Daily Telegraph expenses coverage.
In a letter to Mr Binley, Chris Galley, the Sunlight COPs new Research Director asked for a full and frank explanation in the circumstances surrounding Mr Binley renting a Pimlico flat, within walking distance from Westminster, from BCC Marketing – a company Mr Binley owns.
If Mr Binley cannot provide an adequate explanation, then the Sunlight Centre will be pursuing this issue with the House authorities, starting with the repayment of the £57,000 allegedly claimed, and reserve the right to ultimately bring a private prosecution if no other remedy can be found.
